There have been some rumblings that bookstores are mentiong a May 2006 release for Dan Brown's next book, and one particular person over at the Cult of Dan Brown forums has said they have been sent a flyer from the Doubleday Book Club which says the same. Anybody else heard mention of this?
I heard something last weekend...
I have posted this on Cult of Dan Bown as well...
I was in a bookstore last weekend and overheard 2 employees talking about Dan Brown's new book. The were saying that it was coming out in April (but did not specify this year or next). They were also talking about how it's a big secret and that they were not supposed to tell customers anything. I also got the impression that "The Solomon Key" was not the official title, but they didn't say anything specific. They just said that peoplecwould be surprised about the title. They then came around the shelves to the aisle I was standing in and clammed up.
I wonder if it could be true......
As to the doubleday book club flyer, my friend is a member (In Canada) and she said that there has been no mention of a new Dan Brown Book in the mail for her.
Talk about conspiracy theorists!
I just found out that the DaVinci code trade paperback is coming out March 28th. To be fair, I was not listening to that conversation in the context that they might have been discussing this release. It doesn't explain the title part of the conversation, but it could explain away the rest. Anyways, I just wanted to be fair in my account, but I am still hoping that my first impressions were right and a new book is on the horizon.
Interesting Date
Hi,
Thanks for the input. It's actually interesting, because when I first heard the May date for 'The Solomon Key', I was skeptical as the paperback was set to be launched a week before the movie. To me, the movie, the paperback and the new book would have been overkill in terms of publicity. However, all of a sudden the paperback is scheduled for March 28th, which certainly clears the way for the new book to be released along with the movie (although having said that, that's still a real flooding of the market - I guess though you could argue that the paperback targets a different reader to the buyer of the new book (fans, versus the curious).
Peace and Respect
